AMY once fell into self-doubt due to Down syndrome, and golf gave her a stage. Swinging day after day allowed her to break through her physical limitations and eventually win a college scholarship. When she first started playing golf, AMY even had difficulty holding the club, but she did not give up. Every shot was a challenge to herself. With continuous practice, her body coordination gradually improved, and her self-confidence was built up bit by bit. Golf gave her the opportunity to participate equally and show herself, and let her know that she, like everyone else, can achieve her goals through hard work. She said: “The ball will not become heavier because I am special. Every time I enter a hole, I am one step closer to being a ‘normal person’.” This persistence and achievement not only changed AMY’s life, but also brought hope and encouragement to other special people.
